Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: High $70,000s to High $90,000s

General Summary:

Under the direction of the supervisor, Enterprise Workstation and Asset Management, provide support and maintenance of the Windows desktop environment including, software distribution infrastructure, product lifecycle management and anti-malware end point protection security, as well as provide enterprise operational support.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Grade 9, Enterprise Workstation Administrator

  1. Assist in managing the Microsoft Windows desktop environment, including but not limited to; Windows desktop operating system, Microsoft Office, SCCM, Marimba and Active Directory.
  2. Assist in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining all Windows desktop management documentation, procedures and standards.
  3. Assist in configuring, implementing and maintaining all desktop security related initiatives including but not limited to; Windows desktop firewall, Microsoft Endpoint Protection and GPO security
  4. Assist in configuring and managing the enterprise Windows desktop Group Policy settings within Active Directory
  5. Assist with the packaging, testing and the deployment of all Windows desktop operating system patches and related applications through the System CM process.
  6. Develop, test and implement application deployment packages via Marimba and SCCM
  7. Troubleshoot, repair and provide routine maintenance for all desktop hardware and peripherals
  8. Assist with adding additional functionality and /or customization to meet business requirements.
  9. Assist in configuring, implementing and maintaining all networking protocols and services, including but not limited to; DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and VPN’s
  10. Maintain and enhance technical and professional knowledge by attending educational workshops and seminars, reviewing publications, and taking advantage of self-learning and mentoring opportunities.

Grade 10, Senior Enterprise Workstation Administrator

  1. Provide direct technical solutions and feedback to the ITS business team BSA’s on production or project related issues, tasks or requests.
  2. Assist in researching, evaluating, testing and implementing new technologies focused on improving the enterprise desktop environment.
  3. Participate in and provide technical expertise for ITS PMO managed projects.
  4. Manage the Microsoft Windows desktop environment, including but not limited to; Windows desktop operating system, Microsoft Office, SCCM, Marimba and Active Directory.
  5. Design, develop, implement and maintain all Windows desktop management documentation, procedures and standards.
  6. Configure, implement and maintain all desktop security related initiatives including but not limited to; Windows desktop firewall, Microsoft Endpoint Protection and GPO security.
  7. Configure and manage the enterprise Windows desktop Group Policy settings within Active Directory
  8. Package, test and deploy of all Windows desktop operating system patches and updates through the System CM process.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Grade 9, Enterprise Workstation Administrator

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus five years relevant experience preferred. College level coursework plus seven years experience in enterprise workstation administration may substitute.
  2. Five to seven years of experience working with Microsoft desktop operating systems required.
  3. Thorough knowledge of application packaging and deployment systems such as SCCM.
  4. Thorough knowledge of Active Directory.
  5. Thorough knowledge of enterprise virus/malware detection software.
  6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work in a team setting.
  8. Ability to exercise independent judgment and function under close deadlines without direct supervision.
  9. Mechanical ability necessary to use specialized tools and diagnostic instruments required.
  10. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  11. Local travel between company facilities required.
  12. Considerable standing, walking, bending and lifting required.
  13. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  14. Excellent work record of attendance and punctuality; occasional evening, weekend and non-regular work hours required.

Grade 10, Senior Enterprise Workstation Administrator

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus seven years relevant experience preferred. College level coursework plus nine years experience in enterprise workstation administration may substitute.
  2. Seven to nine years of experience working with Microsoft desktop operating systems required.
  3. Current Microsoft workstation certifications preferred.
  4. Related technical certification preferred.
  5. Detailed knowledge of application packaging and deployment systems such as SCCM.
  6. Detailed knowledge of Active Directory.
  7. Detailed knowledge of enterprise virus/malware detection software.
  8. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work in a team setting.
  10. Ability to exercise independent judgment and function under close deadlines without direct supervision.
  11. Mechanical ability necessary to use specialized tools and diagnostic instruments required.
  12. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
